“I don’t have any words. It took me three months to prepare for this marathon and I would like to thank coach Dave for his help…
It means a lot to me because I have been through a lot because before the race, something happened to me and I had to go to the psychologist.
I went into camp for three months and I took unpaid leave. The race also belongs to Mafikeng because the last two winners are from there”, shared Dijana.
Asked if he was going to quit his job as a security guard he replied: “I won’t leave my job. I will try to keep working and to balance what I have with what God has given me here. I think I should have an adviser who will tell me what to do with this [money].”
The men’s race runner ups from South Africa Edward Mothibi and Dan Moselakwe finished in second and third place respectively. The women’s race runner up is Dominika Stelmachfrom Poland and South Africa’s Adele Broodryk finishing in third position.
The winner of the Comrades Marathon walks away with R260 000, second and third position win R130 000 and R90 000 respectively.
Hollywoodbets were the race number sponsors.
The last Comrades Marathon was in 2019.
