South African veteran radio broadcaster Mark Pilgrim has passed away aged 53. News of his passing sent shock waves across social media, followed many heartfelt condolences to his family, friends, colleagues and fans.
Mark lost his battle to stage 4 lung cancer at 10:45am this morning, following a long battle to recovery. Pilgrim fought a good fight and despite the many setbacks and difficulties he faced, he had hopes of beating cancer and shared regular updates on social media for his fans and well wishers.
Following 33 years in remission, Pilgrim was diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer in February 2022, which he revealed in June 2022. The former Hot 102 FM radio presenter will forever be remembered for his courageous fight and #dontstopbelieving motto which he practiced up to the very end.
Pilgrim leaves behind his wife and two children.
