Rapper Emtee, real name Mthembeni Ndevu has been arrested for violating a protection order by his estranged wife Nicole Chinsamy. The rapper recently appeared at the Midrand magistrates court and subsequently had his bail revoked over this matter.
He is accused of violating a 2023 protection order that was obtained by his ex-wife Chinsamy. The order prohibited Emtee from verbally abusing her or harassing her on social media. However, Emtee was arrested after he sent Chinsamy messages over WhatsApp.
His arrest comes after he took to social media to make a public apology to his children and loved ones affected by the ongoing conflict with Chinsamy.
“To my children, I am deeply sorry that they have had to witness aspects of our personal lives become public,”
This is the second time Emtee is arrested in this matter. He was arrested in June for breaching the same protection order and spent a night in jail. He was later released on R1000 bail.
