ActionSA founder, Herman Mashaba has found a new publisher for his book titled “The Outsider”.
Speaking at the unveiling of new Action SA member Advocate Julie Ann Lopes, he shared that people can expect the book to resurface on the shelves by end of June.
The book was officially retracted from the shelves after its former publisher Jonathan Ball Publishers, publicly announced that “The Outsider” will be taken down from the market place, due to breach of trust. It was discovered that Political Analyst, Prince Mashele was paid R12.5 million by Mashaba for the book.

However, Prince Mashele failed to disclose the that he was funded by Herman Mashaba for the book. This ultimately led to the book being retracted.
Jonathan Ball was not informed that there was financial agreement between Herman Mashaba and Prince Mashele which according to Mashaba is not wrong. He made it clear that he see nothing wrong with him paying R12.5 million for his biography.
In order to prevent any future concerns, and or conflicts of interest, Mashaba says his legal team as well as Mashele’s legal team, are both overseeing the matter.
“We need to put his book out as a biography as originally planned, and declare this to the publisher because the loan agreement was for it not to be coming from Prince, but directly from the publisher.” Says Herman Mashaba.
He further added “But one thing for sure, I am proud of the work he has done. Future generations, my grandchildren are going to be happy to really learn that there was once upon a time a South African at the age of 22 from Hammanskraal took a decision to free himself, went into business, and [Was] rewarded handsomely by his activities in business.” Says Herman.
