Banyana Banyana Qualify For 2023 World Cup

Banyana Banyana has done it again. The team has qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and are through to the semi-finals of the 2022 Total Energies Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) after beating Tunisia one nil courtesy of a goal in the first half by Jermaine Seoposenwe.Seoposenwe also got woman of the match for her stellar performance last night.

Zambia, Nigeria, and Morocco also qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup by virtue of being in the semi-finals of the 2022 WAFCON.

It is the second time Coach Desiree Ellis girls qualify for the FIFA Women’s World Cup, they qualified for the 2019 FIFA Women’s World Cup in France. The team did not fare well as they lost all three games against Spain, China PR and Germany subsequently being knocked out of the competition.

Banyana Banyana will be looking to redeem themselves in the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand but for now they still have to focus on the semi-finalswith hopes of going all the way and winning the 2022 WAFCON.
