Minister of sports, arts and culture Nathi Mthethwa announced today, 23 August 2022 stating that the bonus money for Banyana Banyana has been increased to R15 million. The initial bonus money for winning the 2022 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) was R5.8 million.
“Desiree Ellis and her team achieved what seemed like an impossible feat, when they maintained a clean sheet in reaching the WAFCON finals in Morocco,” said Mthethwa.
