American rapper Ty Dolla $ign & British singer KWN set to perform in South Africa

American rapper Ty Dolla $ign and British artist KWN (pronounced kay-one) are headed to South Africa in 2027. Both artists are set to perform at the WAV Festival which returns in January 2027.

The second edition of “WAV” will take place in Cape Town on 2 January before moving to Gauteng in Pretoria at the SunBet Arena on 3 January, with the two international artists headlining both dates.

Fans of the LA rapper will enjoy a mix of genres ranging from Hip-Hop to R&B when he takes tot he stage. Ty Dolla $ign also recently revealed during a live stream that this will be his first time to South Africa and confirmed his visit, without revealing dates.

He also revealed that he had made music with Major League DJz and JazziQ and said he was planning to visit South Africa.

“I’ve never been to South Africa, but I’m about to go though,” he said. “I’m saying I’m going to South Africa. I’m not saying the date, but I’m for sure going to South Africa soon,” he confirmed.

This will also be British singer-songwriter KWN’s first visit to South Africa since establishing herself as one of the UK’s most talented contemporary R&B artists.

“WAV” debuted in Cape Town in January 2026 and will now add Pretoria to its second edition. The festival focuses on contemporary R&B, bringing artists from the international scene to South African audiences across the two-city weekend.
