[WINNERS LIST]: Ronwen Williams and Patrick Maswanganyi Win Big at The 2024 PSL Awards

The 2023/2024 DSTV Premier Soccer League has come to an end with Mamelodi Sundowns securing the league title once more.

Last night, the PSL Awards took place. The awards were once again hosted virtually and to be honest, we hope this is the last time this was the case. It would be pleasant to have the PSL host the awards in person to celebrate the seasons very best in style.

Ronwen Williams took home the top honours, bagging the PSL “Footballer of the season” award, as well as the “Goalkeeper of the season” award. Mamelodi Sundowns coach Rulani Mokwena walked away with the DStv Premiership Coach of the Season award, beating Orlando Pirates coach Jose Riveiro and Stellenbosch FC mentor Steve Barker to claim the award.

Meanwhile Patrick Maswanganyi bagged three awards. He was honoured with the Midfielder of the Season title, in addition to winning the Nedbank Cup Player of the Season award and DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season.

VOTING AND NOMINATION PROCEDURES

Footballer of the Season: Nominations and voting were exclusively conducted by the Premier Division head coaches. Only one head coach per club was authorized to vote, and coaches were prohibited from nominating or voting for their own teammate.

DStv Premiership Player’s Player of the Season: Nominations and voting were solely managed by Premier Division players. Each club was allowed a maximum of 30 votes, with the provision that no player could nominate or vote for their own teammate.

DStv Diski Challenge Player of the Season: Nominations and voting were overseen by the Diski Challenge head coaches. Only one head coach per club was authorized to vote, and coaches were prohibited from nominating or voting for their own teammate.

Match Officials: Nominations and voting were conducted by the SAFA National Referees Committee Panel.

All Other Categories: Nominations and voting were undertaken by a judging panel comprising football journalists, analysts, and commentators. A comprehensive list of the judging panel will be publicly disclosed following the PSL Awards ceremony.
