Supacell Remains Number One Most Watched Superhero Series On Netflix

New Netflix superhero series, ‘Supacell’, is not just a series but a complete hit that depicts family values and the South London Street and underground lifestyle but only this time around, black people are walking around with extraordinary powers. This perfect combination of elements used by thestorytellers is what has kept the series at number spot on Netflix viewer’s choice.

Created by Andrew Onwubolu aka Rapman who is famous for his unique style of filmmaking and co-directed by Zambian born Sebastian Thiel known for his brilliance, Supacell currently has 7,100,000 views and its viewership expands across 87 countries globally. Onwubolu’s ability to portray an all-black superhero cast has brought a new lens to view how individuals deal with the challenges of their newfound abilities. Vikings: Valhalla: Season 3 and The Man with 1000 Kids: Limited Series are on the second and third positions with 5,400,000 views each.

Supacell series stars Tosin Cole as Michael Lasaki, AdelayoAdedayo as Dionne Ofori, Eddie Marsan as Ray, NadineMills as Sabrina Clarke, Eric KofiAbrefa as Andre Simpson, Calvin Demba as Rodney, Josh Tedeku as Tayo “TazerAmusan, Rayxia Ojo as Sharleen Clarke, GiacomoMancini as Spud, Michael Salami as Gabriel, Travis Jay as John, Ghetts as Craig “Krazy”, Digga D as Chucky, and Robbie Gee as Mr. Johnson. These actors embody their characters with flawlessness and have done an excellent job in adding to the realism of the story of five South Londoners whose lives drastically change as they discover the powers whch they possess.

Rapman the creator is still in talks with Netflix for a second season as the series is now of popular demand. As a visionary, he says the series was designed with a three-season strategy. In an interview with Blex Media Rapman said he did not put the characters in superhero suits because that is not the world he comes and he wanted everyone to feel special about it. He also added, “I only pitched it to Netflix and they were already pursuing me for a show.”
