The South African under 20 national football team “Amajita” have qualified for the 2025 FIFA World Cup in Chile.

The team led by coach Raymond Mdaka beat DR Congo 1-0 in a hard fought game against a tough side in an U20 AFCON quarterfinal at the Suez Canal stadium, in Ismailia.


This win secured their spot at the under 20 World Cup for a fifth time. The winning goal was scored by substitute Thabang Mahlangu.
