Limpopo Teen Boy Caught With R1.6 million Cash

Nedzanani Vhugala Thivhilaeli, a 19 year old boy was arrested in Venda, Limpopo, after being found with R1.6 Million in cash in his home.

Since his arrest, Thivhilaeli has appeared before the Vuwani Magistrate’s court where he was facing charges of money laundering. It is alleged that the hawks team arrived and found Nedzanani at his home where they presented him with a search warrant before searching his house. There, they discovered three plastic bags containing cash that was about R1.6 Million.

Limpopo spokesperson for the Hawks, Warrant Officer Lethunya Mmuroa said “the 19-year-old Nedzanani Vhugala Thivhilaeli had the piles of money packed in different plastic bags when he was arrested. “The Hawks received information about suspicious illegal activities at a certain house in Vuwani. After conducting a preliminary investigation, a search warrant was applied for,” Mmuroa said 

The case against Nedzenani is postponed to 7 July 2023, for a bail hearing. The hawks in Limpopo said that the investigations are continuing.
