Lawrence Maleka and Lerato Kganyago To Host 2026 Metro FM Music Awards

Actor & media personality Lawrence Maleka and Metro FM presenter Lerato Kganyago have just been announced as this years Metro FM Music Awards host.

Lawrence and Lerato are set to bring the charisma, entertainment, glitz and glam when they host the stations 2026 awards in Durban. The Metro FM Music Awards will be hosted on the 25th of April at the Durban ICC. The awards are also in partnership and powered by the Motsepe Foundation.

Fans still have time to vote for their favourite artist for the MMA as voting close are set to close on April 19.

Key 2026 Metro FM Music Award Nominees include:
Song of the Year: “Shela” (Sam Deep, Nia Pearl, Boohle & Mano), “Zep” (Dj Smallz, 031 Choppa & Uncool MC), “Sdudla or Slender” (Shandesh), “Bengicela” (Mawhoo), and “Uzizwa kanjani” (Jazzwrld & Thukuthela).
Artist of the Year: Shandesh, Ciza, and Ze Nxumalo.
Best Female Artist: Shandesh, Mawhoo, and Ze Nxumalo.
Best Male Artist: Kabza De Small, Ciza, and Stixx.
Best Produced Album: Most wanted (Jazzwrld & Thukuthela), Bab Motha (Kabza De Small), Kings of kwapi (Sam Deep, Stixx, and Nvcho), Thato ya modimo (Kelvin Momo), and Amaciko (Lwah Ndlunkulu).
Best Jazz Album: Mandisi Dyantyis (Intlambululo: ukuhlambulula), Judith Sephuma (When winter fades), and Andile Yenana (Way out is in).
Best Gospel Album: Xolly Mncwango (Unusual live / Deluxe), Nontokozo Mkhize (The live experience), and Musa Yende (Sustained by grace).
Best Kwaito/Gqom Song: “Puku Puku” (Dladla Mshunqisi & BEAST RSA), “Ngyasindelwa” (Real DJ Lag & Ze Nxumalo).
