Yamikani Janet Banda professionally known as Lady Zamar, recently took to Twitter to express her feelings regarding the hate she has been receiving from people since her rape scandal with musician, Sjava whose real name is Jabulani Hadebe.
To give context to the story, Lady Zamar once opened a case of rape against Sjava, for what allegedly happened at a hotel in Thohoyondou, Limpopo back in 2017 after a concert. According to the NPA spokesperson Mashudu Malabi-Dzhangi, the case was declined because the state believed that the facts or evidence do not support a successful prosecution. Since then, Lady Zamar continuously received backlash from society.
“You guys don’t know me or my full story and you don’t know why I’ve kept quiet for such a long time…you guys have no idea how you break a person.” Said Lady Zamar in her recent Tweet. 
The main point of her Twitter outburst was to ask society what do they want from her, because she gets backlash for trying to move on from her situation with Sjava. She also gets backlash for sharing any view or opinion on social media, especially when it comes to relationships.
“Do you want me to kill myself, do you want me to die, be murdered, go to jail to make you guys happy…do you guys want me to stop making music or publicly cry so that you can see how I actually feel about what happened to me? Please tell me.”
The backlash continued as people replied to her recent Tweet. Some people however, sympathised with her.
“Falsely accusing someone of something as horrible as rape is your sin. Until you apologise to the nation, the dark cloud will forever follow you. I myself loved you to bits and I still do but you but you need to take us into your confidence as a nation, we’re very forgiving!!!”, said @Gowjas replying to Lady Zamar’s tweet.
“I’ve Felt that pain too, when others judge without understanding. Remember, their words don’t define you. Stay strong and hold on to your truth.”, said @DividendIncome_ replying to Lady Zamar’s tweet.
