Khanyi Mbau, Rosemary Zimu and Senzo Radebe continue to make South Africans proud. The trio has been nominated for top international acting awards. They are proudly flying the South African flag high. They will be representing South Africa in the Best African Actor & Actresses categories at the Septimius Awards. The awards are set to be held on the 26th of September 2023 in Amsterdam.
Reality television star Khanyi Mbau has bagged many roles since she has been in the entertainment industry, she was first introduced to the small screens as Doobsie on popular show Muvhango on SABC 2 and she also appeared on Netflix’s ‘Happiness is a four letter word’. Mbau also made an appearance on Red Room and She is King. Khanyi Mbau is also a television presenter.
Rosemary Zimu is well known for her character of Zinhle on ‘Savage Beauty’ which lead to her nomination and she also appeared on shows like ‘Generations the Legacy’ as Thembeka, Veronica on Isidingo, Warona on The Queen and as well as her character on the Nollywood film, ‘Champagne’.
Senzo Radebe won the hearts of mzansi when he was playing the supportive role of ‘Sthe’ on Muvhango. He has also appeared on BET’s Isono as Abednigo. He is currently playing the role of Zibuko on Gomora and he made a stellar appearance on Shaka Ilembe.
The trio has the country’s support as they fly the South African flag high. Khanyi Mbau and Rosemary Zimu are nominated for best actresses alongside Dina El Sherbiny, Mercy Johnson Okojie, Mercy Aigbe, Ijeoma Grace Agu, Eiman Yousif and Siran Riak.
Meanwhile Senzo Radebe is nominated for the best actor award alongside Akram Mag Sakouhi, Mothusi Magano, Olarotimi Fakunle, Kamil Cagniard, Morne Visser, Paul du Toit and Landry Nguetsa.
According to reports the Septimius Awards is an esteemed event that places a strong emphasis on identifying and supporting up-and-coming independent talent, fostering visionary movies, and uniting all aspects of filmmaking and storytelling, including fiction, non-fiction, animation, television series, and scripts.
The award presentation will feature a wide variety of genres, from drama to documentary, and a diverse spectrum of attendees, including Emmy, BAFTA, and Oscar winners like Christopher Hampton and Kevin Willmott.”
