The trial of Limpopo born rapper Lehlogonolo Chauke, popularly known as Shebeshxt has been set for 17 May 2027. The trial will commence at the Polokwane Regional Court following the dismissal of his multiple bail applications since his arrest in November 2025.
Chauke faces 21 charges, including four counts of attempted murder, theft and malicious damage to property, among others. He appeared before the Polokwane Magistrates Court for pre-trial proceedings today, 10 September 2026.
The musician and his new legal team sought a two-month postponement to allow them additional time to prepare for the case, however the request was denied and the pre-trial proceedings progressed.
