The son of former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe has been arrested for the alleged shooting of an employee at his family home in Hyde Park, Johannesburg. The incident happened on Thursday 19 February. It’s reported that Chatunga Mugabe shot the security guard after an argument.
Colonel Dimakatso Nevhuhulwi says the victim is currently in hospital under critical condition. Following the shooting, it’s further reported that Mugabe locked himself in the house and refused to come out when the police arrived.

The police managed to convince him to come out and he was subsequently arrested. However, the police are still searching for the gun he used to shoot the security guard. It is believed he hid it while he was in the house. As it stands, police have now brought in sniffer dogs to find the gun.
