Troubled musician and tv personality Molemo “Jub Jub” Maarohanye has been released on bail. The Moja Love tv show host was arrested on Sunday following an incident where he allegedly kidnapped and fired a gunshot at an Uber driver he accused his girlfriend of cheating with.
The driver managed to escape and reported the incident to the authorities which then led to his arrest. Jub Jub was scheduled to make his first court appearance regarding this matter on Wednesday 17 June, however, he was released on R5000 bail after his lawyer applied for an urgent bail hearing. In his application, he raised concerns over delays in appearing before the Germiston Magistrate’s Court. The High Court granted the application and ordered his release.
The matter has been postponed to Monday for further investigation.
