All eyes and ears were locked into the 2025 Ballon d’Or awards that took place on Monday night in Paris.
Top contenders for this years Men’s Ballon d’Or award were Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Raphinha and PSG’s Ousmane Dembele, a former Barcelona FC player.
Dembele was crowned the overall winner with Lamine coming in second and Raphinha ranked a shocking 5th!
2023’s winner and eight time Ballon d’Or recipient Lionel Messi took to Instagram, commenting on Dembele’s post to congratulate him.
The women’s Ballon d’Or winner was a historic one and a new record for Barcelona’s Aitana Bonmati who collected the award for a third time back to back.
“It’s incredible this feeling. I never thought when I was a kid that I could achieve this because I didn’t think women’s football can exist,” Bonmati said.
