Dear fellow South African’s…
We are scheduled for a family meeting tonight with President Cyril Ramaphosa at 8pm. While the country remains on Lockdown Level 3, I’m sure by now we’re all waiting impatiently to drop down a level or two keeping in mind that it is in our best interests to wear a mask, practice social distance and all other prevention measures put in place to curb the spread of this global pandemic.
The President is also expected to personally receive the first 1 million doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine coming from India. he will be joined by Deputy President David Mabuza and Health Minister Dr. Mkhize.
The vaccines are set to arrive in the country at 3pm this afternoon. The Minister of Health Dr. Zweli Mkhize has mentioned that before that vaccines are distributed, they will undergo quarantine for 10-14 days.
South Africa is also expected to receive another 500 000 vaccine doses later this month.
