Cristiano Ronaldo Dropped For Chelsea Match

#CristianoRonaldo has been trending on social media since the match between Manchester United and Tottenham ended with a 2-0 win in favor of Man United Wednesday evening, 19 October 2022.

The reason that Ronaldo is trending is not because Man U won but its because the star player did not feature in the match and walked back into the change room at 89th minutes of the match. Just before the match ended.

The club on Thursday evening, 20 October 2022 released a statement that stated Ronaldo will not be traveling with the team to play Chelsea at Stamford Bridge stadium in England.

“Cristiano Ronaldo will not be part of the Manchester United squad for this Saturday’s Premier League game against Chelsea. The rest of the squad is fully focused on preparing for that fixture,” read the statement.

Yesterday, 20 October, Ronaldo also released a statement through his Instagram account, “…i’ve always tried to set theexample myself for the youngsters that grew in all the teams that i’ve represented. Unfortunately, that’s not always possible and sometimes the heat of the moment gets the best of us.”

The Guinness World Records holder for the most goals scored in international football matches by an individual signed to Man U in August 2021 from Juventus.

It is unclear whether Ronaldo is being punished for leaving while the match is still being played or its another reason. We are yet to see what will happen after the Chelsea game on Saturday, 22 October 2022.
