[CHAMPS]: Banyana Banyana Are Queens Of Africa

Banyana Banyana have conquered Africa after playing five finals in 1995, 2000, 2008, 2012, 2018 and not winning the gold medal. A brace from Hildah Magaia in the 63rd and 71st minutes of the game ensured that the team seals the deal and win the 2022 Total Energies Women’s Africa Cup of Nation (WAFCON).

Morocco player, Rosella Ayane managed to get a consolation goal for the home team in the 80th minutes of the game.

There was a new record set for women’s football record with 45 562 attendances at Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Morocco.

Coach Ellis’ girls performed extremely well with no loss or draw in the tournament winning all games played. The team was named CAF Women’s National Team of the year adding a cherry on top of was coach Desiree Ellis being recently named CAF Women’s Coach of the year.

Zambia finished in third place while Nigeria finished in fourth place.

Banyana Banyana have already qualified for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup and will be landing at OR Tambo International Airport on Tuesday, 26 July 2022.

We hope the South African Football Association (SAFA) President, Danny Jordaan will pay the girls the money he promised them.
