[CARS]: BMW Makes The Perfect Diesel Engine

Diesel engines are may not be everyone’s taste, nor do they sound very sporty and some do not have enough emotion, but the german automakers could be making the best diesel engine in the world. The BMW X5 30d is one of them.

The 3 litre turbocharged diesel straight-six makes 265 horsepower and 620 Nm of torque, routed though an incredible eight-speed torque convertor automatic transmission that smoothens gear shifts when in comfort mode and delivers hard shifts when in sport.

Most impressively is the torque that diesel engines make, ensuring that towing and highway passing is made very easy as they do not rev very high. The enginein the BMW makes a sweet exhaust note sort of like their V8 petrol motors. In the BMW line-up there are two more powerful varients a 40d and an M50d.

The diesel engine is accompanied by a beautiful BMW exterior and interior. This being the pre-lci model, the design is very classic BMW and elegant even for this M-sport trim. The M-sport trim gets you a meaner grille, different side skirts, bigger diamond-cut wheels and deeper diffuser. Contrasting against their white paintwork.

The interior design is certainly better than the LCI, due to having buttons and more classic interior, unlike the Lci’sminimalist interior. The infotainment system itself is defineltyeasier to navigate and is not filled with distracting gimmiks. The standard BMW interior has leather from the top and bottom of the cabin with the optional carbon fibre trim inlays.

With a boot capacity of 650 litres and an optional seven seats makes this the perfect daily driver and that can seat 5 or 7 and make passing on the highway effortless, thanks to that diesel.
