Britney Spears (41) and her husband Sam Asghari (29) have reportedly separated and are headed to divorce. Following news of their separation earlier this week, Sam has now filed for divorce. This may or may not come as a surprise, as many fans and media outlets were not convinced that the marriage would last, following their lavish wedding 14 months ago at her home in California. Sam is Britney’s third husband, and reasons for his filing are yet to be disclosed.
Their marriage served as a sign of a new beginning as Britney’s 13 year conservatorship came to an end. However, the couple also dealt with the heartbreaking loss of their unborn baby following Britney’s miscarriage shortly after their wedding.
Britney and Sam have been together since 2016 after meeting on set of her video which he featured in. Now the question many of her fans are asking is… “did she have a prenup?”. We hope they signed one!
