Banyana Banyana Request Support From Fans

South Africa’s national women’s football club Banyana Banyana, calls upon its fans to show support as they prepare to play a send-off friendly match against Botswana, this coming Sunday on 02 July 2023. The match will take place at Tsakane Stadium in the East Rand.

“Wear your green and gold and Come Show Your Love for Banyana Banyana in their send-off match against Botswana on Sunday, 2 July 2023 at Tsakane Stadium (Kick-off 15:00).”, said Banyana Banyana on Twitter.

Entry into the stadium will be free. Complimentary tickets were made available to the public since Thursday 29 June 2023.

Sunday’s match will be a send-off for Banyana Banyana, as they prepare themselves for the FIFA Women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

The FIFA Women’s Cup will kick-off from 20 July 2023, until 20 August 2023. South Africa, Zambia, Nigeria, and Morocco are the four African Nations that will represent the whole of Africa, in the FIFA Women’s World Cup.

Nigeria is placed under Group B competitors, followed by Zambia under Group C, South Africa under Group G, and lastly, Morocco under Group H.

“We just want to thank the Football Association for getting us a send-off Match. We know it has been a difficult task, we are really grateful and we ask the fans to come out in their numbers to support this team and give us a fantastic send-off. We look forward to playing the match and we thank Botswana as well for coming forward to play this send-off match.”, said the Banyana Banyana Coach Desiree Ellis.

Nozipho Mbatha, Senior Manager: Group Brand & Sponsorships at Sasol, expressed her excitement about Banyana Banyan’s send-off match. She further added that Sunday’s match against Botswana will help gauge Banyana Banyana’s readiness for the World Cup Title, and she believes that through this match, the players will be able to identify areas they need to improve on, just before the FIFA Women’s World Cup.
