South Africa’s senior men’s soccer team Bafana Bafana look set to qualify for the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The unstoppable team secured crucial back to back wins during their games against Lesotho and Benin.
Bafana Bafana beat Lesotho 2-0 at the Peter Mokaba stadium in Polokwane before bagging another three points against Benin in their away clash!

South Africa now sit on top of Group C with 13 points and a 5 points lead. Despite the ongoing debacle surrounding the fielding of Teboho Mokoena in Polokwane, who according to FIFA rules was not supposed to play because he picked up two consecutive yellow cards, it appears that Lesotho logged their complain too late as the 24 hours following the game had lapsed.
The Lesotho FA have also confirmed that they have withdrawn the complaint because of the time constraint which would result in the complaint being disregarded.
There’s no doubt that this Bafana Bafana team has what it take to win the upcoming AFCON and represent South Africa and Africa well at the World Cup.
Well done to head coach Hugo Broos and his team and these extraordinary players!
