Professional football player Shaune Mogaila, who currently plays for PSL team Sekhukhune United made a brief appearance today at the Tembisa Magistrates Court.
Mogaila faces charges of culpable homicide, reckless driving and fleeing from the scene of an accident for the fatal car crash that took place in October 2024. Mogaila’s car crashed into a car driven by Keo Mavimbela, killing her nine year old daughter Gomolemo at the scene. The crash also left Keo with life-changing injuries.
Following today’s court appearance, Mogaila’s lawyer is set to finalise a plea deal and sentencing proposal in May. The Mavimbela family has enlisted the help of Afriforum for legal support.
