A crescendo of cheers is what can be used to describe the moment US Vice President Kamala Harris gave her acceptance to honor her presidential nomination at The Democratic National Convention’s fourth and final night on the 22nd of August 2024.
Harris has made history as the first woman of color to lead the presidential ticket of the Democratic party. She replaced President Joe Biden a few weeks ago as the democrats’ faithful after a rallying by prominent figures of the party. The theme of the convention’s final night in Chicago was “For Our Future” in which Harris shared her vision and policy agenda for Americans.

During her speech to assure Americans that she is on a mission to serve with total dedication, Harris said, “My entire career, I’ve only had one client: the people. And so, on behalf of the people, on behalf of every American regardless of party, race, gender or the language your grandmother speaks, on behalf of my mother and everyone who has ever set out on their own unlikely journey, on behalf of Americans like the people I grew up with, people who work hard, chase their dreams, and look out for one another, on behalf of everyone whose story could only be written in the greatest nation on earth, I accept your nomination to be president of the United States of America.“

59 years old Harris was sworn in as the Vice President of the Unites States of America on the 20th of January 2021, after serving as District Attorney of San Francisco, California Attorney General, and United States Senator. On the 11th of August 2020 Harris accepted President Biden’s invitation to become his running mate and help continue to unite the nation.
