Ace Magashule’s PA Moroadi Cholota extradited to South Africa

Moroadi Cholota, Personal Assistant to former Free State premiere Ace Magashule has been extradited from the United States of America. Cholota was arrested at the OR Tambo international airport just as she touched down the South Africa soil on Thursday night.

Before her arrival, several members of the Hawks investigating unit and the South African Police Service (SAPS) had been spotted at the airport police station in preparation for her arrest. Cholota is a key witness to the state for the R255m asbestos tender scheme which included crimes such as fraud, corruption, theft, and racketeering. She was formally charged for interfering with justice as she had earlier declined to corporate with the police.

The national police spokesperson Brigadier Athlenta Mathe made a statement while SAPS members were preparing to receive Cholota at the airport to assure the public that Cholota will definitely face justice. She said, “Cholota is on her way to South Africa. SAPS officials are escorting her on the flight. Once Cholota jets down at the OR Tambo International Airport she will be handed over to the Hawks.” Cholota’s  arrest comes after Interpol had received a surrendering warrant for her on the 1st of August 2024.

Other co-accused in the cases include renowned businessman Edwin Sodi, former director-general of national Department of Housing Thabane Zulu, as well as Nthimotse Mokhesi, Mahlomola Matlakala, Sello Radebe, Adel Kgotso Manyeki, Nozipho Molikoe, Albertus Venter, Margaret-Ann Diedericks and former MEC and Mangaung mayor Olly Mlamleli. The following companies that have also been named as accomplices are Blackhead Consulting, 602 Consulting Solutions, Mastertrade 232 and Ori Group.
