The future of the Porsche 718 models is looking very bad in Europe. Porsche production manager, Albrecht Remimond has confirmed the end of production on the 718 Cayman and Boxster models in late 2024.

It seems European Regulations have forced another sportscar into extinction. In 2025 the Cayman and Boxster might possibly go electric or not even return at all. Not even the four-cylinder versions get to stay. Although luckily the GT4 RS and Spyder RS models are excluded as they are limited production models. The 718 line-up is of old technology when considering that all Porsche models have a hybrid variant, like the 992.2 911 T-hybrid model.

Porsche can update the architecture of the 718 platform, adding some hybridisation to keep model line-up in Europe.
