[BREAKING]: 6 Suspects Arrested In Connection To Luke Fleurs Murder

Kaizer Chiefs defender Luke Fleurs was sadly gunned down last week on April 3rd in Honeydew, Johannesburg as he waited to be served at a petrol station.

The soccer player was removed from his red VW Golf GTI vehicle and shot once before the hijackers drove off in his car. He was rushed to hospital but unfortunately confirmed dead on arrival.

Police have made a breakthrough in his case by arresting six suspects in connection to the botched hijacking and murder. The suspects were arrested in the early hours of Wednesday morning, 10 April in Slovoville, Soweto. Although already stripped, his car was also recovered.

Masondo said a team led by the Gauteng deputy police commissioner of crime detection, Major-General Mbuso Khumalo, worked around the clock to ensure the suspects were brought to book.

“Police believe that the suspects are part of a syndicate that is responsible for car hijackings in Gauteng, and the search for more suspects is continuing,” he said.

The suspects are expected to appear in the Roodepoort Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
