Eswatini-Born South Africa based music star Lungelihle Zwane better known as Dj Uncle Waffles has got Mzansi’s tongues wagging once again. The trending Dj has made it to Africa’s most influential business magazine “Forbes Africa.”
Zwane took to social media to share how grateful she is for being part of this huge milestone. She posted her cover on Instagram, captioned “what do I even say. How do I explain that I am on Forbes Africa cover, God thank you for always choosing me. This journey continues to be a journey of the impossible and this is still only the beginning, thank you for loving me, thank you so much, I’m on Forbes baby”
Uncle Waffles rose to fame in 2021 when her viral dancing video was circulating all over social media. As the cool kids say, her video “broke the internet” locally and internationally. She was even recognized by the international rapper Drake who said she is his favorite South African Dj.

With her Dj career she has managed to score gigs not only in South Africa but across boarders too. Uncle Waffles was also nominated for a 2023 BET Award.
Recently, she secured a collaboration with KFC, where they introduced a new burger on the menu called the “uncle waffles burger”.
Lungelihle’s feature on the Forbes Africa magazine has given her the recognition she deserves. She is the cover star of the Forbes Africa 2023 October & November edition. She co-stars alongside Wouter Kellerman and Ofentse Petse for the list of sound strategies. “The innovators going global with African music”
This is what Uncle waffles said in the magazine “During the Covid-19 lockdown, I was working for a broadcasting company. I was doing small interviews with creatives here and there and then one day I interviewed a Dj and I asked if a could learn the art, it just went from a conversation to a couple of sessions, to eight hours a day for nine months, to falling in love with something I didn’t think I could love, I took a risk, I put out a small poster I edited on pics art and here I am”
Congratulation to Uncle Waffles.
