Actor Tumisho Masha Triumphs in Custody Battle with Ex-Wife Zozibini Mtonga

Film and television star Tumisho Masha, has emerged victorious in a hard-fought custody battle against his former spouse, Zozibini Mtonga. The renowned actor and producer, best known for his role in “Mandela’s Gun,” appeared before the Johannesburg Magistrate’s Court on Tuesday, September 12th, in his determined pursuit of a relationship with his daughter.

The separation between Masha and Mtonga occurred nearly eight years ago, marking the inception of a prolonged legal battle that saw Masha return to the courtroom almost annually. In a candid statement shared on his Instagram account, Masha revealed the arduous journey he had undertaken, stating, “I have been in and out of courts every year since our separation, in her continued efforts to not only defame my name and hinder my ability to earn an income as a public figure, but also to tarnish my character as a man and, most importantly, to deny me my rights as a father in fulfilling my paternal duties towards my child.”

The actor contended that these efforts were designed to alienate him from his daughter, despite her own expressed desire to spend equal time with both parents. Masha also revealed that he had to contend with charges related to aggressive behaviour towards his child, as well as allegations of alcohol and drug abuse, which he vehemently labelled as “fabricated lies.”

After a gruelling custody battle that caused an emotional, mental, spiritual, physical, and financial toll, Masha could finally declare victory. He declared, “Today, I was fortunate enough to leave the Johannesburg High Court after a successful appearance and winning the case with full costs.”

Masha expressed profound gratitude to his family, his legal counsel, and his current wife, Chantel Wagner, whom he married in 2021 after four years of companionship.
